Canada-wide Standards (CWS) for Particulate Matter and Ozone (Canadian Council of
Ministers of the Environment)
The Canada-wide Standards for Particulate Matter (PM) and Ozone were passed in June 2000, with involvement by the federal government, British Columbia and the other provinces and territories. They
are an important step towards minimizing the risk that PM and ozone pose to human health and the environment.
